A few of my friends seem to think others would benefit from my journey in life.  So….I promised to start this blog.

Let me explain why I chose Someday Is Today as my Blog name!  I can’t tell you how many times in my life I’ve said, “I’ll get to it tomorrow, I’m too busy this week, when I feel I’m ready I’ll start, when I  have the money, I’ll start this when life isn’t so crazy, I’ll get to it…someday”.   For years now I have tried to incorporate the new attitude of ‘Someday is TODAY!’  other wise someday NEVER arrives!

My new recent plunge into making someday today is revamping my health lifestyle.  I hired a personal trainer and had my first session on September 2, 2008!  I plan on logging my journey on this adventure as requested by others.  This is quite a new approach for me as compared to the way I’ve tried to accomplish this in the past.   I’ll be talking more about this in the days & weeks to come.

But first, what the hell does being healthy mean anyway?  Have you ever googled the word healthy?  There are about 189,000,000 results!  How in the blazes am I going to find what’s right for me?!?  We are all individually made.  Each of us is different in how our bodies react to foods, chemicals, physical activity, stress, and emotions.  Believe it or not our beliefs and how our perspective on the subject makes a difference too!

Are  you tired of waiting for things to  just happen?  What are you waiting for?  Make today the day you do something about it!

This is my journey to a new healthy lifestyle by taking it one step at a time.  I will talk about my visits to the doctor as I have diabetes and other medical conditions that will affect getting healthier!  I will talk about my time with my personal trainer as I learn about nutrition and physical & functional fitness!  I will share my successes, setbacks and struggles.  It will be a wild ride that I’m excited about.

Please feel free to comment and share your own struggles and successes.  I would love to hear about it so we can support and encourage one another through the journey of becoming healthy!

  2. Hi Christine,
Your attitude is inspiring! As a part of the thousands who have pledged to get fit this year, our goal is to make working out more enjoyable – by making common courtesy a bit more common. Whether it’s indoor training or an outdoor trail hike, we think our rules bring some humor and much-needed etiquette to any fitness regimen. So, if you enjoy our sassy spin on Muscle Manners we hope you’ll help us share the word by adding us to your blogroll – and we’ll do the same!

    Stay fit and fab,
    Manner Ladies

I’m so thrilled to have found your blog (just added you to my blogroll). I also have diabetes and am really really wanting and hoping to keep it under control with diet and exercise (ie avoid medication and insulin if I can). I really feel optimistic. I also have an AWWESOME trainer who has helped me, and my daughter who is on her own path to being strong and healthy (she is a serious athlete). I am excited to follow your progress and hope that you will keep me company, too.

PS. What I wanted to say first is that I LOVE the name of your blog; I “got it” instantly and it actually made me feel quite emotional. Because “someday” has always been so elusive to me… but not anymore. It IS today.

I’m so glad you’re on this journey…changing the course of our health, especially having diabetes! Wow, thanks for adding me to your blogroll…I’ll be adding yours to mine. I will follow your progress as well…we CAN do this…with the support and encouragement from everyone going through the ups and down of this journey to a lifetime of health!

Making TODAY the day instead of SOMEDAY speaks volumes! Glad you chose TODAY as well…

Hiya. Like others, I just want to say how much I love the title of your blog. I can’t help but admire anyone who decides that today is the day and goes for it.

Anywho, I’ll keep this short and sweet. I’m a virtual tour coordinator and I am wondering if you would like to review author Kathy Balland’s book on your blog and/or have her here as a guest. She is touring in July with her book: Lose the Diet. Her website is: http://www.losethediet.com/

If you’re interested, feel free to email me with any questions you have.
